Chicken Soup for Boosting Immunity (6 months+)

Healthy Chicken Soup Recipe for babies (6 months+), toddlers, and adults.

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 chicken drumsticks or chicken pieces (legs or thighs preferred)
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 3-4 whole black peppercorns
  • 2-3 cloves (laung)
  • Vegetables like carrots, broccoli florets, onion etc. (optional)

Procedure:

  • Wash 3-4 chicken drumsticks or chicken pieces with bones (legs or thighs preferred due to high fat content).
  • Now, take a pressure cooker and add 1-2 cups of water in it.
  • Add 2-3 cloves of garlic, 3-4 whole black peppercorns, 2-3 cloves (Laung) and the chicken pieces.
  • Pressure cook the soup for 4-5 whistles on high flame and open the cooker once it has released steam on its own.
  • Strain the soup using a sieve and remove the peppercorns, cloves (laung) and garlic.
  • Chicken soup is ready to serve.
  • You can serve the broth as it is (liquid consistency) or you can even shred the boiled chicken and make a puree of the chicken and broth.
  • Alternatively, you can add vegetables like carrots, broccoli florets and onions while pressure cooking and puree them with the chicken.

Note: Avoid salt till 1 year of age.
