Spinach Mushroom Pasta recipe for kids (9 months+)

High Protein Spinach Mushroom Pasta for Kids (9 months+)

This recipe is one of our family favourites and now Noor’s favourite too! It is an extremely healthy recipe – rich in Protein (because of the Cashew Butter) and micronutrients (because of the spinach)! The colour is very vibrant too and attracts kids 🙂

The secret ingredient undoubtedly is the @happyjarsin Cashew Butter which not only helps thicken the spinach puree but also lends a creamy taste to it!

I am a big fan of this Cashew butter and use it generously in our food (to thicken gravies, as a substitute for cream) as well as Noor’s porridges.

Cashews are extremely rich in Zinc which help in boosting immunity & promote hair growth as well.  

She eats this pasta very quickly whenever I offer this to her for lunch/dinner and it’s very healthy also as it is primarily vegetables that she is eating. So, I don’t even mind serving it to her once or twice a week!


  • 350gms Spinach
  • ½ cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Chilli flakes (optional)
  • Salt (1 year+)
  • Freshly ground Black Pepper
  • Mixed Italian Herbs
  • 1 tbsp Cashew Butter
  • Grated Cheddar or Mozzarella Cheese
  • Boiled Pasta


  • In a blender, blend the spinach with a little water.
  • In a pan, add some virgin olive oil.
  • Now, add 1 tbsp chopped garlic and then, ½ cup finely chopped mushrooms and sauté them together for a minute.
  • Add a pinch of chilli flakes (optional).
  • Now, add the spinach puree and mix everything well.
  • Add a pinch of salt (1 year+), fresh ground black pepper and mixed Italian herbs and mix well.
  • Add 1tbsp of the @happyjarsin Cashew butter.
  • Once mixed well, cover the pan, and let it cook for 5-7 minutes.
  • Now, add grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese and mix well until the cheese melts.
  • After this, add the boiled pasta, mix well, and let it cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  • High Protein Spinach Mushroom Pasta is ready to serve.

Note: Salt should be avoided for babies less than 1 year
